Article: 93 Gun Ban Violators Arrested in Philippines

A total of 93 persons have been arrested by the Philippine police in the last two weeks for violation of the gun ban, a senior official from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Monday.

Bernardo Pardo, Chairman of the Comelec, revealed this development during a coordinating conference held by the Comelec and the Philippine National Police.

The Comelec has imposed the gun ban since January 11, the beginning day for the registration of candidates, to ensure the May general elections proceed smoothly.
