Ninety-nine Hong Kong members of the National Committee of the
Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) left here
for Beijing on Sunday for the First Session of the Ninth CPPCC
National Committee scheduled to open on March 3.
They were seen off at the Kai Tak International Airport by Zheng
Guoxiong, deputy director of the Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong
Branch.
Before departure, they told reporters that they felt honored to
be
able to attend the CPPCC National Committee session, and pledged
active participation in state affairs.
