South Korean President Kim Dae-jung Tuesday unveiled a delayed
lineup of 17 cabinet members amid the country's financial crisis and
political instability.
Kim Jong-pil, honorary chairman of the United Liberal Democrats
(ULD), was named as acting prime minister after the National
Assembly, or parliament, failed to vote over his nomination as prime
minister Monday.
President Kim, whose administration has been without a cabinet
for
a week due to the partisan dispute over Kim Jong-pil, named the 17
ministers at the recommendation of outgoing Prime Minister Koh Kun
in
an apparent attempt to minimize challenge to his moves currently
being shrouded in legal disputes.
