The Rwandan government has hailed the guilty plea made at the
United Nations Arusha Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) by Rwanda's former
interim prime minister Jean Kambanda Friday morning.
"It is no surprise that Kambanda has pleaded guilty," Rwandan
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anastase Gasana told the media.
Gasana pointed out that Kambanda, as a ring-leader, was aware of
the enormous amount of evidence, made of videos, recorded speeches,
as well as witnesses' accounts attesting his heavy involvement in
genocide.
"It would be very much appreciated if he reveals all he knows
about the genocide plan, its organization, and how it was carried
out
throughout the country," the minister added.
