A Cathay Pacific Plane Lands at HK's New Airport

A wide-bodied aircraft of Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways Saturday successfully landed at the new Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok as part of the first airdrome trial conducted by the Airport Authority.

Cathay Pacific's B747-200 aircraft, "the Spirit of Hong Kong 97", landed at Chek Lap Kok at 15:20 and taxied to bay S23 where a number of ground handling services were performed.

The aircraft was then pushed back and was towed to bay S27 where further services were tested, including off-loading of baggage and cargo, cabin cleaning and technical checks. After a two-hour trial ...
