UNEP Urged to Do More in Fresh Water Management

A Chinese delegation Thursday urged the U. N. Environment Program (UNEP) to play a more active role in the management of global fresh water resources and make greater contributions to the protection of these resources.

Speaking at the on-going fifth special session of the UNEP Governing Council, a Chinese official proposed that an expert group be established to study the situation of environmental management of fresh water resources in the world.
