The water level in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei
province, is slowly climbing as the fourth flood crest on the Yangtze
River, which passed Shashi and Shishou cities on Saturday, is
approaching.
It reached 29.34 m at 12:00 today, 0.08 m higher than yesterday's
level, and 0.39 m lower than the 1954 record in 1954, according to
the latest report from the State Flood Control and Drought Relief
Headquarters.
At that time, water level at Jianli and Luoshan cities upstream
from Wuhan hit 38.16 m and 34.61 m, surpassing the record hights by
0.43 m and 1.1 m, respectively.
