Article: Myanmar to Produce High Heat Duty Fire Clay Bricks

Myanmar will produce fire clay bricks which can withstand over 1,250 degrees of heat for the country's industries.

A fire clay brick factory of state-run Myanma Ceramic Industries (MCI) was opened here Tuesday to produce 900 tons of such high heat duty fire clay bricks annually, the official newspaper New Light of Myanmar reported Wednesday.

The factory, which cost over 3.55 million U.S. dollars, was built in May 1997 to produce import substitute goods for industries in the country to reduce foreign exchange expenditure.
