The beer war between Kenya Breweries (KBL) and South Africa's
Castle Brewing has developed into a broader trade dispute, with
allegations that South Africa is using unfair tariffs to lock Kenyan
goods out of its markets.
Kenya has already protested to the South African government and
warned that if need be, it will use similar tactics to keep out
South
African goods, the East African weekly reported Monday.
Permanent Secretary at the Trade Ministry Francis Awuor told the
newspaper the two governments had agreed to set up a joint committee
to draw up an agreement that will create a conducive environment for
their two-way trade.
