Article: Swiss Professor Sees Bright Prospects for Human Rights in China

Human rights in China have bright prospects, said Swiss Professor Norbert Meienberger from Zurich University, who is here to take part in the on-going International Symposium on Human Rights.

Meienberger, a renown Sinologist in Switzerland, has visited China for several times since 1970s.

In a interview with Xinhua, he expressed his opinion about the differences between Chinese and Western conceptions of human rights. In contrast to the Western conception, the Chinese conception is much more comprehensive as it is not limited to the classic political and civil rights, he said.
