Milwaukee police will again beef up their presence in the Water St. entertainment area Friday and Saturday, repeating a weekend operation that will continue until the weather gets cold, according to a department spokeswoman.

Last weekend's "directed patrol mission" on Water St. resulted in eight arrests, 19 citations and three traffic warnings, according to information released by the department this week.

Last Friday and Saturday nights, police shut down Water St. to vehicular traffic from E. Juneau Ave. to E. Highland Blvd. to prevent cruising, according to department spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz.
