Article: Indonesia Expects IMF to Continue Its Loan Program

Amid worry over possible loan suspension, an Indonesian government official expected the International Monetary Fund (IMF) not to delay again its aid to the country, saying such a move will damage the on-going economic recovery program.

"The IMF has an interest in the process of economic recovery program in Indonesia. If the IMF does not support Indonesia, it ( the IMF) will shatter," Minister of Finance Bambang Sudibyo told reporters here Wednesday.

He also said that Indonesia will face trouble if the IMF along with the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Consultative Group on Indonesia (CGI) cease their (financial) assistance.
