U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch has decided to quit the Republican presidential race after a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses, his adviser said here Tuesday.

Utah Senator Hatch, who got only one percent of the vote in the first presidential voting in Iowa on Monday night, would announce his decision Wednesday, his adviser said.
