Article: Overseas Tourists to China Surge in First Two Months

The number of overseas tourists, including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, visiting China reached 12.52 million in the first two months this year, bringing in a record revenue of 2.3 billion U.S. dollars.

The latest statistics from the China National Tourism Administration indicate that in January and February the number of overseas tourists jumped 13.86 percent over the same period last year.

Of the total, the number of strictly foreign tourists surged 24. 8 percent to 1.27 million, with tourists from Asia and Europe growing by 28.8 percent and 21.9 percent, respectively.
