Article: Pre-registered Domain Names Cause Trouble

Domain names are being stolen by others, although the practice is not illegally.

More than 90 percent of the top 100 listed firms in China don't have domain names in Pinyin, or Romanization of their Chinese names on the Net. Neither do 75 percent of the most popular 20 brands, according to 3721.com, a website offering domain name registration service.

Such practices occurred in the United States and other countries as well, whereby big companies have to pay large ransom to buy back their "names".
