African leaders Thursday agreed that peace and economic
integration are essential to launch the continent into the global
market successfully and to make the African economic booming a
reality.
"There is an urgent need to review the question of conflict on
the continent," South African President Thabo Mbeki said at the
World Economic Forum's (WEF's) 10th annual southern African economic
summit meeting held in South Africa's port city of Durban.
The summit was organized by the WEF and the Southern African
Development Community (SADC).
