Lebanese leaders told visiting U.N. Middle East envoy Terje Roed
Larsen that the violence in south Lebanon will not cease if Israel
does not relinquish the Shebaa Farms in its planned troop
withdrawal, the Daily Star newspaper reported.
Prime Minister Salim Hoss told reporters that "Lebanon wants to
liberate its occupied territories and restore its sovereignty there.
It will not give up one centimeter of the territories, especially
the Shebaa Farms."
The highly fertile farms, seized by Israel from Lebanon in the
1967 Middle East war, are located on the Lebanese side of Mount
Hermon, Syria's highest mountain, which is under Israeli occupation.
