The housecleaning campaign in China's futures sector since 1993
has achieved remarkable success in rectifying market order and
perfecting the regulatory system, China's top securities regulator
Zhou Xiaochuan said here Friday.
Zhou, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (
CSRC), made the remarks at the launching conference of the China
Futures Association (CFA).
According to him, the housecleaning has paved the way for a new
stage in the healthy and orderly development of the sector.
The futures came into existence in China in October 1990, when
the then Zhengzhou Grain Wholesale Market first introduced futures
mechanism in its operation.
