Article: No Foot and Mouth Disease Spreads to Other Districts in S. Africa

South Africa's Foot and Mouth Disease Control Centre Sunday announced in Pietermaritzburg, capital of KwaZulu-Natal Province, that there is no reason for alarm as the disease has so far only been diagnosed in two farms in the Camperdown district, which was the origin area of the outbreak of the disease.

"Samples taken from farms within the 10km quarantine zone in Camperdown continue to test negative, raising cautious hopes among veterinarians that the disease has been contained," the center said in a statement.

Meanwhile, samples taken from cattle in the Nottingham Road district of KwaZulu-Natal Province were on Sunday also tested
