The U.S. Electoral College Monday voted for Republican Texas Governor George W. Bush to become the 43rd president of the United States, 41 days after the American public voted.

The 538 members of the U.S. Electoral College met Monday in their respective state capitals around the country to confirm the election of Bush as president.
