Norway's Football Association announced in Oslo on Tuesday its
decision to bar three English premier league players, including
Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, from the national
team for their refusal to sign a sponsorship accord.
If the decision stands, Norway will be without Solskjaer,
Manchester United defender Ronny Johnsen and Tottenham Hotspur
midfielder Steffen Iversen for their next World Cup qualifier
against Poland in March.
"We are both surprised and disappointed that some of the players
won't be with us in future," Football Association president Per Ravn
Omdal said after the trio refused a four-year deal.
