The popular Thai Rak Thai Party is expected to catch 230, or 57.5
percent seats of the future House of the Representatives, the lower
chamber, paving the way for its leader Thaksin Shinawatra to take
the premiership, according to the latest-released results of an exit
poll.
The poll, conducted in all the 400 constituencies nationwide
after the close of today's voting of the general election at 300 p.
m. local time (0800 GMT), found that The victory for Thai Rak Thai
is better than expected. It has hoped to get 190 to 220
parliamentary seats.
