Article: New Study Vindicates Night Lights for Hazard to Infants

Although some researches believe that the night lights might cause nearsightedness in infants, a new study conducted in the United States shows that the concern appears unfounded.

According to a report published on this month's Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, researchers say they can find no link between myopia, the medical term for nearsightedness, and the lights.

The new findings challenged a previous study conducted in 1999 which had reported a higher incidence of nearsightedness among children who slept with night lights or overhead lights before age 2.
