Article: Colombian Rebels to Set Free 100 Government Soldiers

The rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) announced on Friday they would release some 100 government soldiers once the humanitarian agreement with the government is signed.

Raul Reyes, spokesman of the FARC, the largest guerrilla force in Colombia, said the release of the soldiers will be included in an agreement on the exchanges of ill captives, which is expected to be reached by representatives of the government and the FARC in the next few days.

"Once both sides sign the agreement on the humanitarian exchange of captives, the FARC will liberate 100 prisoners as a goodwill gesture, in order to enhance the peace process," Reyes told reporters on Friday.
