Article: Chinese Table Tennis Chief Warns Against Complacency

A top Chinese table tennis official warned against bulging ego in the Chinese team on the eve of the World Table Tennis Championships.

Li Furong, vice chairman of both the Chinese Table Tennis Association and the Chinese Sports Administration, told the Chinese players and coaches Sunday night not to rest on the Olympic laurels.

"A clean sweep of eight gold medals in the past two Olympic Games has been history and you have to start from scratch now and win the men's team championship that we lost last year," said Li, a former table tennis world champion.

Li said some players had been dizzy with honors and didn't know who they were since the 2000 Olympic Games.
