Article: Police Disperse Estrada Supporters Near Presidential Palace

Philippine riot police and Presidential Security Group members dispersed supporters of jailed former president Joseph Estrada after they breached the police barricade just outside a gate of the presidential palace early Tuesday morning.

Law enforcers swung their truncheons and fired warning shots into the air to disperse the supporters of Estrada at the J.P. Laurel gate of the presidential palace at around 5 a.m.

Before the dispersal, clash broke out between the police and some young people who wielded police trucheons they grabbed earlier from a anti-riot police barricade while marching on the presidential palace.
