Article: Nigeria Condemns Some African Leaders' Attempt to Stay in Power Forever

Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Duben Onyia has condemned the attitude of some African leaders who try to manipulate their countries' constitution to perpetuate themselves in power, the News Agency of Nigeria reported on Sunday.

Onyia was quoted as saying that one of the greatest problems facing the African continent was that some leaders take every step to maintain a life-long power.

"If the African continent is underdeveloped today, it is partly caused by the crises which have resulted when African leaders attempt to perpetuate themselves in power," Onyia said in the Nigerian capital Abuja.
