South Korea has placed 25 former Japanese war criminals on a list
of those permanently banned from entering the country, said the
Justice Ministry Friday.
The 25 were involved in civilian massacres and ethnic
discrimination during the Japanese colonial rule of the Korean
Peninsula from 1910 to 1945.
The ministry did not disclose the names of the former war
criminals due to diplomatic practice.
The South Korean Justice Ministry scrutinized a list of 5,300
Japanese war criminals and microfilm obtained from Japanese civic
organizations and U.S. government archives, said the ministry.
