Article: S.Korea Bans Entry of Former Japanese War Criminals

South Korea has placed 25 former Japanese war criminals on a list of those permanently banned from entering the country, said the Justice Ministry Friday.

The 25 were involved in civilian massacres and ethnic discrimination during the Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula from 1910 to 1945.

The ministry did not disclose the names of the former war criminals due to diplomatic practice.

The South Korean Justice Ministry scrutinized a list of 5,300 Japanese war criminals and microfilm obtained from Japanese civic organizations and U.S. government archives, said the ministry.
