Article: Israel to Expand Power Grid in Disputed East Jerusalem

Israel has decided to link upthree Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem with Israel Electric Corporation's power grid, a daring move which may further irritate the Palestinians, Israel's Ha'aretz daily reported Sunday.

The report said that all major Jewish areas in East Jerusalem, occupied by Israel after the 1967 Mideast War, had already been linked to the Israeli electrical grid. But the move to link the three small neighborhoods to the Israeli network would be the firstof its kind since 1987.

The order was already issued by Israeli Minister of National Infrastructures Avigdo Lieberman, a leading hawk in the national unity government.
