Article: British Government's IT Expenditure to Rise Greatly

The British government's spendingon information technology is expected to grow by about 13 percent a year until 2003, according to a report available here Tuesday.

A survey, which was based on 3,000 responses, published by Computer Weekly/Kew said one of the fastest sectors for IT spending will be the government.

It said that although overall IT spending in Britain would slowthis year from about 11 percent in the second quarter to about 6 percent in the final quarter, growth should rebound in 2003.
