Driven by significant uptake in services, wireless Internet usage in the United States is on the rise.

According to a report released Wednesday by U.S. market researcher International Data Corporation (IDC), the number of wireless subscribers in the United States will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 73 percent, from approximately 5 million in 2000 to more than 84 million in 2005.
