HANOI, November 28 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnam-U.S. Trade Agreement,approved by Vietnam's National Assembly on Wednesday, shall enter into force on the day on which the two countries have exchanged notifications that each has completed the legal procedures necessary for this purpose.

Once becoming effective, the agreement will not only bring great opportunities to, but also pose severe challenges for Vietnam's economic development.

The agreement, signed by Vietnam's Trade Minister Vu Khoan and U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky in Washington on July 13, 2000, marked the complete normalization of bilateral economic and trade relations between Vietnam ...
