MOSCOW, November 19 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. does not seek a long- term military presence in Afghanistan or Central Asia, and enjoys close positions with Russia on the makeup of a future Afghan government, U.S. Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow said hereMonday.
