Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat met on Tuesday with European
Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana in the West Bank town
of Ramallah, Palestinian radio reported.
During a press conference held after the meeting, Arafat
described Solana's visit to the region as "very important" when
Israel escalated military aggressions against the Palestinians.
He accused Israel of keeping closure on the Palestinian
territories for more than a year, a move which he said prevented
Muslims and Christians from praying in Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Israel is still holding all the financial dues that
should be paid to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Arafat
stressed.
