As many as 22,000 children lack health insurance in Yakima
County, and many of their parents may not know they could qualify
for free or low-cost medical care.
More money than ever is available for state-provided children's
medical care, but not enough people are signing up for the programs.
What officials have found is that many working families without
insurance in the Yakima Valley aren't aware they can receive it for
free or as little as $10 per month.
Planned Parenthood of Central Washington contracted with the
Yakima County Health District to sign children up for state-
provided care, and is looking for working families, single parents
and teen-agers living on their own who want free ...
