Anglers who have never caught the bug before are now under its
power.
People are missing work because of it.
Yard work and household chores are being neglected due to its
presence.
It is salmon fever - and it's spreading like a wind-blown
wildfire throughout the Yakima Valley.
This year, for the first time in over 40 years, spring chinook
salmon fishing is open on the middle section of the Yakima River.
And with a projected 26,000 springers returning to the Yakima and
its tributaries, it didn't take long for the salmon fishing bug to
start spreading.
