Apple Tree Golf Course plans a major expansion over at least the
next decade that will double the golf course and add hundreds of
housing lots, officials announced Thursday.
The expansion, including an additional 18-hole golf course, a
lodge for conventions, vacation condominiums and a gated residential
complex, will transform Apple Tree into a major destination resort,
said John Borton of Yakima, managing partner of the Apple Tree
Partnership.
The project also includes what is described as a retirement
village with a nine-hole, par-3 course.
"It will greatly enhance our Valley to have an upscale project
and give the community something to take pride in," Borton told a
