OLYMPIA - This January, Roaches will occupy both chambers of the
Legislature.
But no one's calling an exterminator. They're calling historians.
Sen. Pam Roach and her son, newly elected Rep. Dan Roach, both
Republicans from Auburn, will be the first mother-son duo to serve
in the state Legislature at the same time.
"I think it'll be a lot of fun," said Dan Roach, 28, who won a
close race to unseat Democratic incumbent Mike Stensen.
"It was very exciting," said Pam Roach, 52, who has served in the
Senate for a decade. A conservative Republican known for speaking
her mind frankly, she welcomes a new colleague who shares her views -
and she's thrilled that the colleague happens to be her son.
