Tooth decay and oral disease are preventable, but in Yakima
County they are far too common - especially in children.
That's the concern of the Washington Dental Service Foundation,
which recently launched its "Cavity Free Kids" program with a goal
to significantly improve the oral health of Washington's children.
In Yakima County, the program will include hygiene sessions in
school classrooms and handing out of information packets and free
toothbrushes.
The program is initially targeting the state's poorest areas,
including Yakima, Adams, Benton and Franklin counties. The program
