Correction: Because of a reporting error, the name of a bluegrass band, the Ohop Valley Boys, was incorrectly printed in a story on the Folklife Festival in Saturday's paper.

Summer is here, make no mistake.

It announced itself Saturday by burning unprotected skin, spiking temperatures into the mid-90s and sending people beneath the shade of big leafy trees.
