TOPPENISH -- Fire took the roof off a single-story, two-bedroom, cinder-block house home at 70 South Satus Road, between Mabton and Toppenish, on Monday.

An estimated $20,000 in damage was blamed on faulty wiring which triggered an attic fire sometime before noon. The home is worth about $60,000, firefighters said.
