The race for an open judicial seat in Yakima County District
Court will be trimmed to two during the Sept. 15 primary election.
That has all three candidates working hard to clear the first
hurdle of this election race. And all three said their courtroom
experience should be enough to propel them across the finish line
ahead of their competitors.
"I have the broadest experience of any of the candidates," said
Myrna Contreras, an attorney in private practice who also has served
as a judge pro tem.
"I am the only candidate with full-time judicial experience,"
said Ruth Reukauf, who has served the past three years as a District
Court commissioner.
