They're not slot machines, but they'll do.
Officials at Yakama Legends Casino near Toppenish said Friday
that a decision by the state Gambling Commission to allow tribes to
have new high-tech lottery games could prove a major money maker for
the tribe. But the jury is still out.
The commission voted 5-2 Thursday to send Gov. Gary Locke the
plan allowing online lottery and electronic "scratch ticket" games
in lieu of slot machines, which are illegal under state law. The
governor, who struck a deal with the tribes Wednesday to limit the
impact of the plan, promised to sign it quickly. After that, the
plan would need approval from U.S. Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt,
