HINTON (AP) - A former Summers County sheriff's deputy convicted
on federal civil rights charges nearly a decade ago has been
indicted
on aggravated robbery and battery charges.
Howard Steven Sears, 38, allegedly entered a house in Meadow
Creek, Summers County, last November claiming he was a federal
agent,
searched the house and removed a 12-gauge shotgun.
He also pepper-sprayed the face of a house guest, but later
helped
him wash his eyes, police said.
