The Pioneers lived to see another basketball day before they become the Warriors by edging past Ravenswood 47-46 in a frantic Class AA Region 5 championship game Wednesday at Capital High. A capacity crowd of close to 2,000 watched the 5-foot-8 Shears take a charge in the final seconds to help preserve the win for East Bank, which will merge with DuPont next year to form Riverside High School.
