Bob Hatfield is no fan of pigeons. Every day, Hatfield, stadium manager for Watt Powell Park, sends someone to clean all of their droppings from the park seats and floors.

The job takes three hours. But Hatfield said pigeon droppings are not just annoying and time- consuming. When dry, they are a health hazard. And they're bad for anything painted, like baseball park seats and metal beams. "They're like acid," Hatfield said. The pigeon problem at Watt Powell Park is nothing new.
