KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Scott and Kim Tucker could interpret only one
of the slogans being shouted by the mob demonstrating on the streets
below their 14th floor hotel room last week. "American killers.
American killers. American killers."
The Leawood, Kan., couple had traveled halfway around the world
to
Guangzhou, in southern China, on a mission of love - to meet and
experience the culture of their first child, Lillie Gwynne Tucker,
before returning with her to America. But in the process, the
Tuckers and 12 other adoptive families found themselves temporary
prisoners.
