If you think you saw a dog with gold teeth running around the
Badlands, your eyes may not have been playing tricks on you. "It was
for a guard dog at Po-Boy's," the used tire shop in Jefferson, said
Dennie Withrow, general manager of Tincher/Butler Dental Laboratory
in South Charleston. "The owner wanted gold fangs for it, so we made
gold fangs." Then there's the lion.
"When I was in Florida, we were right next to Lion Country
Safari," said Champe "J.R." Butler II, customer service manager at
the lab. "A lion lost a fang, and I made a fang for it. We used a 3/
4-inch drill, just like you'd use in your home, and a four-by-four
to prop his mouth open."
