The new owner of the Charleston Alley Cats believes six months is all the time that local leaders have to put together a plan for a new ballpark for the city's minor league baseball team.

"Frankly, if it can't happen in the next six months, it probably can't happen," said Tom Dickson.

Dickson and his wife, Sherrie Myers, purchased the Class A team last month. The couple said they would move the team to another city if a stadium deal is not worked out.

Local organizers said they need more time to find a location to replace the Alley Cats' home, Watt Powell Park, built in Kanawha City in 1949.
