Tug Valley left no doubt Wednesday night.
No doubt that senior guard Greg Davis was a top candidate for
state player of the year. No doubt it's serious about repeating as
Class AA state champion. The top-ranked Panthers (22-3) shot the
lights out at the start and settled for an 89-64 victory over
Wyoming East in the quarterfinals of the state tournament at the
Civic Center. Tug Valley will now meet Independence in Friday's
semifinals.
Davis, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, poured in 34 points, including a
state tournament record eight 3-point field goals.
"Greg Davis is amazing with the range he has," said Tug coach
